Today I participated in the elluminate web conference for Global Science. I thought it would be a great way to explore a learning tool that I have never used before. The conference is live and used conjunctively with a microphone or webcam. There is also an area where you can repond by utilising emotives or icons for particular purposes for example a hand icon if you need to ask a question.It was a great way to learn online and interact with others that were participating in the conference. It would be an extremely useful tool for the classroom to collaborate with students from around the world or different parts of the country particulalry to learn about topics that were relevant to their particular location. It is great as it involves a group of learners as well as involving the teacher to facilitate the learning and provide feedback instantaneously. I think the uses of interactive learning are endless and elluminate could be used for a whole range of different learning purposes in the classroom in a structured and well organised environment.
