TPACK (technological pedagogical content knowledge) is based on the learning construct of Professor Lee Shulman who believes that pedagogical and content knowledge should not be seen in isolation rather they should be utilised conjunctively to design learning that is adapted and organised accordingly to the context (Mishra & Koehler, 2006.) This is to ensure that learning content and pedagogy combined is more suitable and accessible for students while also considering their diverse interests and learning abilities (Mishra & Koehler, 2006). Traditionally the framework was represented as Pedogogical Content Knowledge (PCK) and due to an increased demand of utilising technology effectively in the learning context an additional component being technology has been integrated to support its use within the learning design process. It is now formally represented as TPACK and it must be emphasised that it not based on simply incorporating technology but having the knowledge and skills to utilise it and deliver it effectively and accordingly to the learning context (Mishra & Koehler, 2006). This can be achieved in a situated environment as it is suggested that through being immersed in an authentic learning context, one can pass on the knowledge that is gained constructively (Mishra & Koehler, 2006). In doing the online blogs, wikis and exploring tools, it is beneficial as we are not only learning new content knowledge about technology but also how we could adapt it for effective pedagogy. The process of utilising technology within education is continually evolving and therefore it is crucial to be upskilling myself through the use of technology in order to adapt it to the changing nature of learning (Mishra & Koehler, 2006).
